Greener Ettington
Ettington is a village about 5 miles south-east of Stratford-upon-Avon. Greener Ettington supports local people to take practical action for a greener, more connected community by looking after nature, cutting carbon and pollution, sharing trusted information and helping residents lead their own projects.
Ettington Cutting, where the A429 by by-passes the village to the west, consists of flower-rich roadside verges and banks, and is managed for wildlife by the Warwickshire branch of Butterfly Conservation. Notable species include Brown Argus, Chalkhill Blue, Dark Green Fritillary, Dingy Skipper, Grizzled Skipper, Marbled White, Small Blue, Small Heath and White-letter Hairstreak.
Recent Projects & Initiatives
Past activities have included planting fruit trees in the grounds of the community centre, replanting a hedge with native varieties, wild flower planting and establishing no mow May on key verges in the village.
