Birdsong, Spring Migrants and the Pond’s Wildlife

Event by Sun Rising Natural Burial Ground and Nature Reserve
After the hard work of digging the extension to our pond last autumn, watching it fill as the rains came in early winter, we’re now ready for an official opening!
We’ll start by walking along the boundary hedges, listening to the spring birdsong, looking out for spring migrants, pausing at the swift tower. At the the pond, we’ll be looking at its spring flora and fauna, exploring pondlife (in the dipping pond), and talking about the wildlife that will benefit from the larger area of water, such as swifts, dragonflies and bats. We will then make our way up the boundary hedgerows to the Longhouse for a cuppa.
The event is open to sensible accompanied children who are keen on the natural world.
This event is by donation. Please let us know if you would like to come along, and we can give you more information: office@sunrising.co.uk.
