SUMMARY:Tysoe's Photography Competition 2026
DESCRIPTION:Tysoe Wildlife in conjunction with Tysoe & District Record are planning a photographic competition to select 12 photos for a ‘Tysoe Wildlife’ calendar for 2027.  The calendar will go on sale at the end of the year\, and proceeds will be used to support wildlife in the parish. \nThe theme of the competition is ‘Wild Warwickshire’. \nPhotographs must have been taken in Warwickshire since 2024. \nPhotographers with a range of experience from novice to expert are encouraged to enter. Up to three images may be submitted per person. \nAll photographs must be submitted as a digital image (JPEG or PNG) in landscape orientation\, with a 6 x 4 ratio\, ideally at a resolution of at least 300 dpi or 1mb in size. \nEntrants must give their full name and email to the competition organisers. This data will be processed and stored in a secure manner and will only be kept for the duration of the 2026 competition. \nTO ENTER: email your entries to tysoewildlife@gmail.com. Larger files can be sent via wetransfer – https://wetransfer.com/. Closing date is 30th August 2026. \nThe decision of the judges for the ‘Wild Warwickshire Photographic Competition’ is final. \nPlease note: All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject (where necessary) and do not infringe the copyright of any third party. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it. \nThe photographer gives permission to Tysoe Wildlife and the Tysoe Record to print the photographs in the Calendar and for them to be cropped or adjusted where necessary to assist with the printing. The photographer also gives permission for Tysoe Wildlife to features the images on our web pages and Facebook page\, while Tysoe Record may wish to reproduce them in the village newsletter. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Alcester Town Council - Climate & Nature Drop-In Engagement Event
DESCRIPTION:This event forms part of our ongoing work to support local climate adaptation\, biodiversity\, and community action. Our aim is to bring together organisations\, residents\, and volunteers to share knowledge\, inspire practical action\, and shape future priorities for Alcester.  The event will be structured around four themes: \n“Habitats” – Biodiversity Focus\nPromoting support for pollinators\, hedgehogs\, and native species\, alongside practical guidance on habitat creation and wildflower planting. \n“Energy & Waste” Advice\nOffering residents advice on energy efficiency\, cost-saving measures\, and low-carbon living\, including climate adaptations that mitigate the risk of flooding and drought\, especially in the garden (water smart gardening). \n“Action & Volunteering Hub”\nConnecting residents with local initiatives such as tree and hedgerow planting\, litter reduction\, and community growing projects. \n“Map Your Future” Interactive Wall\nAn opportunity for residents to share ideas and priorities directly onto a large map\, helping inform future planning and funding bids. \nWe would also like to have short expert led talks throughout the afternoon and crafts and activities\, such as making your own sausage dog draught excluder.  We would be delighted if your organisation could attend\, host a table\, provide materials\, or contribute to the programme in a way that suits you. Please let us know if you would also be interested in delivering a short informal “Meet the Expert” session.  We hope you can join us for what promises to be a positive and impactful community event.
